The Sword of the Laird of Lundy, Lundie, Lundin

The sword of the laird of Lundin achieved fame in the 19th century as it was one of five ancient swords used in the ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone of the Wallace monument on the 24th June 1861. To show the importance of this sword and Lundin's place in Scottish history, the other swords were that of King Robert the Bruce, Sir William Wallace, Sir John de Grahame, and the Black Douglas.

The sword is supposed to date back at least as far as the time of Sir Richard de Lundy, the suposed friend of Wallace.

The sword is currently in the possession of the Baroness Willoughby de Eresby, the senior representative of Lundin of that Ilk.
