The Lundy, Lundie, Lundin family originates from the Barony of Lundin (Lundie, Lundy) in the Parish of Largo in Fife. At one time they held a great swaith of lands across Fife, radiating out from Lundin, and estates all over Scotland. Today there a no more landed families, the last being Lundin of Auchtermairnie, which estate was sold sometime between 1855 and 1880, and Compton-Lundie of Spittal, who survived a short time longer.

As well as Lundin, branches of this family held the Baronies of Conland in Fife; Balgonie in Fife, Gorthie in Perth; Benholm in Kincardine.
